The less storage and the more active you are, the faster your Cloud PC should start with a maximum start time of 16 minutes, at which point your Cloud PC will display that it failed to start.
In this case, it is possible that something installed is either preventing windows from starting, preventing the Stim streaming software on your Cloud PC from connecting to our servers, is blocking AWS tools, is blocking windows licensing tools, or is blocking NVIDIA licensing tools. A lot of installed software may cause this, but the most common is a VPN.
When a VPN is installed to your Cloud PC, it may fail to start during your next session. This is because the VPN routes all traffic through the VPN, including our streaming software which is unable to connect to our servers which require that they use a specific public IP.
If you are using a VPN, check if it supports “split tunneling”: https://nordvpn.com/features/split-tunneling which should allow you to continue using your VPN while on Stim.
Stim keeps a backup of your Cloud PC for 3 hours taken from the last time it was able to start successfully. You can revert to this backup (if available) by clicking on the below icon while your Cloud PC is stopped:
If it has been more than 3 hours, this button may not exist and this may not be an option. If your Cloud PC still fails to start after 15 minutes, or your Cloud PC says it is corrupt and has no restore option, unfortunately the only option is to click the red button and delete your Cloud PC, and then create a new one.
