Below are the bandwidth requirements (peak) for each stream quality setting.
Note: Most of the time, the stream will use lower than the peak value, but this is the maximum bandwidth the stream can consume in each default setting:
1080p @ 30FPS: 12Mbps
1080p @ 60FPS: 18Mbps
1080p @ 120FPS: 27Mbps
2K @ 30FPS: 24Mbps
2K @ 60FPS: 36Mbps
2K @ 120FPS: 54Mbps
We have an "Auto" stream quality (default) setting coming in 2025 which will adapt the stream quality based on your device capabilities and realtime internet connection, similar to other platforms such as Geforce Now which adapt realtime to network packet loss.
When setting custom (advanced) stream settings, for better quality than the default options, we suggest increasing the Peak Bandwidth (Bitrate). You can increase it as high as 500Mbps based on your internet connection. You can also set different aspect ratios including portrait aspect ratios.
Note: In 2025 we will also be adding more advanced options to change the codec, FEC (Forward Error Correction) values and modify stream encryption key sizes if you would like a more or less secure (lower latency) stream. This is all in addition to our default "auto" stream quality setting coming soon. We have many options/customizations planned for the advanced stream settings menu in the future!
