Note: Only Access Passes have restrictions. You can start any Cloud PC in either Access Pass or Pay As You Go mode and you can switch between using the same Cloud PC in either mode. Pay As You Go does not have any idle timeout or restrictions.
Stim.io would have to charge a lot more for subscriptions if everyone had their Cloud PC running 24/7. For this reason, when starting a Cloud PC in subscription mode (Access Pass), there is an idle timeout once you are idle for 15 minutes. Our platform monitors for those trying to get around that idle timeout.
If you use stim.io multiple days in a row for 8 hours without taking a single 15-minute break, our platform will suspect you are either sharing access to your account with someone else (account sharing) or abusing/attempting to bypass the idle timeout. Both are against the stim terms of service. It is very unlikely for a human to use something for 8 hours straight without a single 15-minute break.
At this point, our platform will automatically enable the Stim.io anti-abuse AI on your account to investigate your usage. You will then immediately begin seeing captchas (only after an 8-hour session without a single 15-minute break)
Our automated abuse AI platform will begin displaying captchas, monitoring how you solve captchas, analyzing your network data usage while using your Cloud PC compared to how many hours you use your Cloud PC, keyboard, mouse, controller inputs, and more to determine the likelihood that you are using a macro, mouse jiggler, or tool in an attempt to bypass the idle timeout.
If our platform is confident you are abusing our service, after seeing a few warnings, your account, device, payment method, and all associated devices with your account will be banned from starting any Cloud PC in Access Pass mode. You can continue using Stim.io via Pay As You Go. If banned, you are eligible for a partial refund for the remaining time on your Access Pass.
Because there may be false positives (innocent people who get banned), we decided to have this abuse AI only become enabled on your account AFTER you have had multiple 8-hour sessions without a single 15-minute break.
Our team can’t undo a ban or help explain how our anti-abuse system works in more detail, as this could help those abusing the service reverse engineer and abuse it further. A very small percentage of customers have 8 hours of usage without a single 15-minute break.
